ENERGY AUDITS

SIA Ekodoma offers comprehensive energy audits and prepares the required certifications and evaluations in energy efficiency.Their team of seasoned experts provides professional advice to enhance energy efficiency and can conduct various engineering measurements.

Energy Efficiency Audits for Buildings

We conduct energy certification for both residential and non-residential buildings of all types, including those planned, under reconstruction, being renewed, or already in use.

Our team comprises several independent experts in building energy efficiency, who have collectively conducted over 600 building energy certifications in Latvia and participated in related projects across Europe.

Energy certificates are prepared for existing buildings when energy efficiency and renovation measures are planned, required by law, or requested by owners. Temporary certificates are necessary for buildings awaiting construction, reconstruction, or renovation to be approved for use or sale.

These certifications assess and document a building's or its part's energy efficiency, covering energy consumption for heating, hot water, lighting, ventilation, and cooling, and identify potential energy-saving measures.

Residential Building Energy Audit

Residential building energy audits focus on identifying the most technically and economically viable renovation solutions to ensure that energy efficiency measures yield expected outcomes, reducing energy consumption and enhancing indoor comfort.

The audit typically assesses the building's envelope, ventilation, and heating systems, aiming for lower energy use and cost savings.

Non-residential (public) building energy audit

Public buildings, encompassing municipal facilities, educational and healthcare institutions, cultural venues, and commercial spaces in Latvia, often face energy inefficiency due to their age and continuous use.

Municipalities, that oversee these buildings, find that they consume a significant portion of energy. To address this, energy audits are conducted to identify and implement measures to reduce consumption and costs, focusing on improving existing systems and changing user and management behavior towards energy use.

Corporate Energy Audits

Corporate Energy Audits, According to Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 487 "Corporate Energy Audit Regulations," are developed for large enterprises, major energy consumers, as well as for other companies at their discretion.

We are a LATAK accredited company, competent to perform inspections as a Type A inspection institution according to the standard LVS EN ISO/IEC 17020:2012 requirements and Cabinet of Ministers regulations in the regulated field – corporate energy audits. LATAK registration No. LATAK-I-543-03-2016.

A corporate energy audit will enable you to determine how efficiently your company operates compared to similar businesses. It offers the opportunity to reduce the cost of production and increase your company's competitiveness. Additionally, it facilitates compliance with legislative requirements regarding energy efficiency.

Preparation of Electricity Consumption Balances

We prepare and submit Electricity Consumption Balances to the State Construction Control Bureau for large electricity consumers.

Companies listed as Large Electricity Consumers, but redistribute purchased electricity to other consumers, can submit an electricity consumption balance to the SCCB. This balance details the total purchased electricity consumption, the amount redistributed to other consumers, and their own consumption. If a company's own consumption is below 500 MWh/year and an electricity consumption balance is submitted, the company is not required to conduct a corporate energy audit or implement a certified energy management system.

Electricity Consumption Audit

An electricity consumption audit is conducted with the goal of identifying potential energy efficiency measures to reduce electricity usage and costs.

During the electricity audit, a company or building is inspected to evaluate the lighting systems and major electricity consumers. Plans are made, and measurements of electricity consumption are taken. Based on the developed distribution of electricity consumption, the measurements taken, and the system evaluation, potential energy efficiency measures are devised.

Heating Supply System Audit

A heating supply system audit is a set of actions that results in detailed information about the existing system, as well as technically and economically justified recommendations for system optimization and efficiency improvement.

Within the scope of this service, a technical-economic justification can be prepared for the replacement of heating supply system equipment in accordance with various energy efficiency programs and support mechanisms.

Street Lighting Energy Audit

The primary goal of a street lighting energy audit is the planning of an optimal lighting system development according to modern requirements and technological possibilities. A street lighting energy audit consists of two main parts: an assessment of the current state of the street lighting system and suggestions for system reorganization and energy efficiency improvement. We prepare existing road sections in DIALux files to accurately announce tenders for the installation of new lights, and we can also assist in the preparation of the correct technical specifications.

Boiler Efficiency and Acceptance Tests

We conduct acceptance tests for boilers and cogeneration plants, determining boiler efficiency and performance per standards. The purpose is to verify whether the installed equipment meets the requirements set by the client and specified by the supplier.

We can offer competent specialists who have conducted acceptance and performance tests to determine boiler efficiency in several European countries – Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Croatia, and Belgium.

We develop the test procedure, conduct the test (measurements, fuel and ash sampling), perform calculations, and prepare a report on the necessary characteristics, primarily efficiency, thermal energy production capacity, etc.

Heating and Air Conditioning Systems Inspection

We conduct inspections and prepare reports for heating, ventilation, and cooling systems, in accordance with the Cabinet Regulation No. 222 "Methods for calculating building energy efficiency and rules for building energy certification" requirements.

Our team consists of specialists who are independent experts in the field of building energy efficiency, certified to conduct inspections of heating and air conditioning systems.

Energy Efficiency Opinions

We prepare energy efficiency opinions in accordance with the requirements of various support programs.

If you plan to undertake:

  • Replacement of production equipment or lines;

  • Installation of new kilns or drying chambers;

  • Installation of a new boiler;

  • Replacement of greenhouse lighting;

  • Or any other energy efficiency measure

and you need an independent expert's opinion on the achievable energy savings, we can offer experienced experts who will perform the necessary calculations.

We collaborate with both project consultants and companies to prepare the necessary project application.
